Basic Travel Requirements for Indians visiting Sweden

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Swedish Visa.


  • A duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Passport with a validity of at least 3 months from the intended period of exiting the country. 
  • Two blank pages for the visa stamp.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background.
  • A European travel insurance confirmation of a minimum of 30,000 euros coverage within Sweden and the entire Schengen zone.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of your travel to Sweden.
  • A flight itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Sweden.
  • Accommodation proof via Hotel reservation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Sweden or a host's residential address.
  • Medical certificate stating the good health of the applicant.
  • Proof of civil status and ties with the origin country such as a birth or marriage certificate.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Sweden. 
  • A bank statement for the last 3 months before the application period.
