  • Any Indian intending to travel to Sri Lanka must apply for the Sri Lankan Electronic Travel Authorisation(eTA). 
  • Indian applicants can also be granted Sri Lankan visa on their arrival in the country.
  • The stay duration for the Sri Lankan visa is 30 days.
  • An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Sri Lanka by air.
  • If visitors are planning a short visit to Sri Lanka, they can submit their ETA application online to the Department of Immigration & Emigration.
  • ETA application can be submitted online or on arrival to Sri Lanka.
  • Visitors are required to present a passport valid for the duration of stay in the country.
  • Somalian passports must have at least one page for entry stamps.
  • A Yellow Fever Certificate is requested from visitors on arriving in Sri Lanka.
  • Traveller must obtain a previous permit from the Department of Animal Production and Health before bringing any live animal into Sri Lanka.
  • Cats and dogs must be accompanied by an official certificate of veterinary health as well as a certificate of vaccination against rabies which are issued by the veterinary authorities.
  • All visitors in Sri Lanka are not required to pay any airport tax upon departing from the airport.
  • The Importation of local currencies beyond 5,000 LKR and the Exportation of local currencies beyond 15,000 LKR is prohibited.
  • Foreign currency over USD 15,000 must be declared upon your arrival in the country.
